Frequently Asked Questions
How is my recovery score calculated?
Your recovery score (0-100) works like a battery. Sleep recharges it, while physical activity and stress drain it. The score is based on up to 8 metrics from your Apple Watch: sleep duration, HRV, resting heart rate, sleep architecture, temperature, activity, respiratory rate, and SpO2. All values are compared to your personal baselines.
What is ACWR?
The Acute:Chronic Workload Ratio compares your recent training load (last 7 days) to your average (last 28 days). A ratio between 0.8 and 1.3 is the optimal zone for safe progression. Above 1.5 indicates increased injury risk. This method is based on the research of Gabbett (2016).
Do I need an Apple Watch?
An Apple Watch is recommended for the best experience. Without one, the app can still use limited HealthKit data (like sleep from iPhone), but the recovery score will be less accurate.
Why is my score different from yesterday?
Your score reflects your current recovery state. It can change based on sleep quality, training load, heart rate variability, and other factors. Check the "Why your battery is here" section in the app for a detailed breakdown.
