Privacy policy

Two distinct things live under this name: the Échappée app, and this website. They do not work the same way, and this page treats them separately.

In one paragraph

The app collects nothing. It runs entirely on your device, with no account, no server and no internet connection. The website does carry a support form: if — and only if — you use it, your reply address and your message pass through a third-party processor, described below.

The app

No data collected

Échappée gathers, transmits and remotely stores no information about you. There is no user account, no advertising identifier, no analytics service and no tracker of any kind.

Your data stays on your device

What you create while using Échappée is saved locally, in the app's private storage:

  • your settings: FTP, camera preferences, graphics profile, time and light, world and language;
  • your session library, including the .zwo files you import;
  • your ride history;
  • your favourites.

This data never leaves your device unless you export it yourself to a file, through an explicit action.

No network connection

The app opens no internet connection while running. It needs the network neither to start, nor to ride, nor to record your sessions. It can open this website in your browser if you tap a support link — at that point it is your browser connecting, not the game.

Bluetooth

Échappée connects over Bluetooth to a compatible trainer in order to read your power and cadence and, where the device allows it, to set its resistance.

  • A connected trainer is required to ride, follow a workout or take an FTP test. With no hardware, Contemplation mode remains available without producing fictitious sports data.
  • The Bluetooth permission is only requested if you open the Devices screen. You can refuse it and use Contemplation mode.
  • Exchanges happen only between your device and your hardware, locally. Nothing is sent to a third party.

Deletion

You can delete your sessions and your history from inside the app. Uninstalling Échappée removes all local data.

Children

Since the app collects no data, it collects none from children either.

This website

This site is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics, and loads no fonts and no scripts from a third party: the fonts and the one script are served from the site itself. That is also why you see no consent banner — there is nothing to consent to.

Hosting

The site is meant for static page hosting. Like any web server, the host may technically log the requests it receives — IP address, date, page requested, browser — in order to serve pages and protect itself from abuse. Those logs belong to the host; they are not passed on to us and are not used.

The support form

The form on the Support page is handled by Formspree, a third-party service that receives the submission and forwards it by email. It is only contacted when you press the send button.

What is sent

  • the reply address you enter;
  • your message;
  • the technical details you fill in: category, Échappée version, platform, device model, system version, interface language, trainer model;
  • the name of the app concerned, added automatically to sort incoming requests.

Nothing else. The form does not read your address from the app, adds no identifier, and fills in no field on your behalf.

Why it works this way

Publishing an email address on an indexable page is handing it to the bots. The form avoids that — and it lives on the website, never inside the game: the app never sends anything to Formspree. That is what keeps the claim “no data collected” true on the app side.

Retention and use

Your address is used only to reply to you. It is not sold, not added to a mailing list, and not used to write to you about anything else. Exchanges are kept for as long as it takes to handle the request, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of the messages you sent, using the same form.

Changes

Any change to this policy will be published on this page, with a new update date. A change to the app that introduced a network request, however small, would be announced here before it shipped.

Contact

For any question about this policy, use the support form and pick the “Privacy” category. No email address is published on this site.
